Metaphysical Beliefs – Amethyst has long been appreciated for its ability to hinder or stop the effects of drunkenness. In Medieval times, they would drink wine from Amethyst goblets. It will bring your heart and energy to equilibrium. Amethyst brings balance to any room it is in. Using Amethyst in crystal grids it will keep the energy balanced.
Gemology – Amethyst (SiO2) is a purple variety of quartz with a hexagonal crystal structure. It is a 7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. Amethyst can be heated to create Citrine or Ametrine. The majority of Amethyst is sourced from Brazil, however, it can be sourced from hundreds of other locations around the world including United States and Mexico.
